Children living in residences where illegal drugs are manufactured, possessed, distributed or used are at particular risk of abuse and/or neglect.  Consequences are vast, but similarities are found.  As heard in the documentary, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, Erik C. Peterson, introduces the program and the children living in drug homes who are relegated to the shadows of their caregiver’s addiction.  This documentary focuses on several courageous individuals from across Wisconsin who grew up in drug endangered homes and have agreed to share their personal stories within chapters of:

Living in Shadows: The Innocent Victims of Meth is a 26-minute DVD-documentary aimed to bring attention to the child victims living in drug environments, produced by Rucinski and Reetz Communication, LLC.  This project was supported by Grant No 2006VRR091 awarded to the United States Attorney's Office - Western District of Wisconsin by the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. Additional funding was provided by the Wisconsin Alliance for Drug Endangered Children, State of Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance, Marathon County Sheriff’s Department and Ministry Health Care.
